For one full-day, learn about the different types of advocacy strategies, examine your own current advocacy efforts, and explore opportunities for growth, all in a small, intimate group of other enthusiastic TESOL advocates.
Immediately after this informative workshop, you will return to your school, program, or affiliate, ready to implement what you have learned and strengthen your advocacy strategies and efforts!
What Will I Learn?
Participants will acquire a deeper understanding of
the different types of advocacy efforts and campaigns
their current capacity to advocate for English learners
leveraging social media to impact advocacy campaigns
the role of various stakeholders when creating advocacy plans
communicating with local, state and federal officials about issues critical to English learners and the TESOL profession.
